So, bio lab hasn't happened yet and other things.

I got to take bio lab testing this week. It took about 15 minutes to complete, I had until Febuary 1st to finish it... umm wow. The safety thing has details such as:
Don't store oxidizers next to flamables.
Don't put explosives in non-explosive rated refrigerators (with a picture of a campus fridge that suffered an explosion!)
Don't breathe the fumes from your experiments directly
How to use a fire extinguisher
Don't break valves off gas cylinders, or they might go "boom!"
Attend your bunsen burners
Don't stick hands in steam autoclave
Acetic Acid smells like _______. (The selections were: ammonia, cheese, and vinegar. Since it IS vingegar, I hope it smells similar. You were supposed to read the material safety sheet to determine this.)

I passed the test at the end amazingly... I don't know how I managed.


I also met the gaming club guys. Generally the same as other gamers, not much to say. I will go to their meeting tonight and find out more, probably. I searched in vain for a science or biology club, none were represented. Lots of racial (ethnic) clubs. If a person of the club's chosen ethnicity walked by, they were hounded by those groups. I didn't find the white person club, I looked for one.

A mentoring group hit me up, but it is designed for freshmen. Wasn't a great help, and a lot of service and religous groups were active as well in hounding me. I fail to see why there needs to be encompassing organizations like "christian fellowship" and then a seperate organization for every branch under that: catholics, lutherans, methodists, etc. Waste of student money for at least the overlord club, if they don't intertwine.

There was a physics club. I was amused by their gyroscope demonstration. They used a dremel to get it revvin' and were trying to attract people by letting them hold the gyroscope. This one guy was totally fascinated by the device, saying how cool it was. The physics majors there selling the club seemed like they were in love with him. ROTATING WHEELS ARE NOT THAT AMAZING...

I also thought about how to simplify larping for newbies.... just make a stupid one shot super hero game... silly but interesting. A list of powers that have SIMPLE mechanics or something. Who knows... maybe I'll get around to acting on it.
